SAP SuccessFactors has made the Release Notes available for its customers. A number of interesting changes are presented below. The new release will be available on productive data centers November 15th-17th and is already available on the preview data centers .
General Display Name
Many of our Netherlands based customers have configured a custom name convention for their employees’ names. This has been done to deal with the Dutch naming convention of allowing employees to be called by their own last name, that of their spouse, or a combination of these. SAP has announced a change in the way names are displayed, to move towards a global standard in naming conventions. This may mean configuration needs to be adjusted, to allow the name to be shown the same way as before.
Note that this is an opt-out functionality, which will be universally pushed in the H1 2025 release. We recommend customers with a custom naming convention to disable this until a solution has been configured. HuRis will publish a best practice for this change for Dutch customers in the coming months.
Full Profile
An optional functionality has been made available, changing the view on the employee profile. The “full profile” view on the employee profile, provides an updated look and feel of the profile, allowing employees to scroll through their information more easily.
With Full Profile, the list view of the profile that is currently shown, will be replaced by cards. Each card provides a snapshot of one portlet. These cards are grouped into predefined categories for easy navigation, and from a card, you can also access a detailed view of each piece of information. In addition to predefined cards and categories, administrators can configure custom cards, and then organize them into custom categories.
This functionality will be made available as an opt-in option. Note that as this is the first release in which the full profile is made available, further functionality will be added in later release, as can be seen here: Read more
A demo of the profile can be found here: Demo profile
New Learning Homepage
After this release, it is no longer possible to hide the new homepage (New Learning Experience). This means that users will have access to the new homepage by default, with the alternative option of using the ‘legacy’ homepage via a switch at the top of the page.
New Delegate Feature for Performance Reviews
The new delegation feature allows managers to temporarily delegate their performance review tasks to others, creating a smoother and more efficient review process. Managers can create, view, and accept or decline delegation requests. Administrators can also create delegations on behalf of managers. This eliminates the need to use the proxy function for this. The new delegation feature provides a more flexible and secure alternative for managing access to the review process.
Attendance and absences in calendar view
For customers using the time sheet, SAP has updated the way the time sheet is shown. Instead of a list view, attendance and absences are now shown in a monthly calendar view. All monthly time entries (absences, working types, on-calls, and allowances) are shown in one view. This is a universal update, so available automatically.
My Forms Page for Performance Management and 360 Reviews
In this release, several improvements have been made to the latest ‘My Forms’ page. Among other things, improvements have been made to the filters:
• The visibility of filters can now be adjusted based on the user’s system role.
• The filter option ‘Template’ now only shows the relevant templates for the selected folder.
• The filter ‘All or Reports Only’ is now available to relevant users and only shows the options that apply to the user.
• Users can easily reset their selected filters with the ‘Reset’ button.
Furthermore, the number of forms in the list is now visible in the title of the form list.
Finally, the ‘Create Form’ button is now only visible to users who are authorized to do so. When selecting a template, a division has now been made into two categories: 360 Reviews and Performance Management.
