Discover key highlights from the 2H 2025 SAP SuccessFactors release, including improved usability, expanded reporting, and our advice for a smooth transition to upcoming mandatory features.
Updated Home Page
SAP SuccessFactors has redesigned the home page to be more intuitive, personalized, and space-efficient. Key changes include:
- Layout: Actions and links are now clearly separated—quick actions appear in a top toolbar, while quick links are shown as buttons below the greeting.
- New Card Types: Banner cards and analytic cards are introduced, offering richer content and insights.
- Improved Content Organization: System-generated cards (like approvals or reminders) are grouped under “Needs Attention” section with filtering options.
- Compact Custom Cards: Organizational updates are shown in a smaller format, grouped by configurable subsections (e.g., “Our Company” or “Popular Links”).
- Admin Enhancements: Admins can now configure custom content more easily and manage personalization settings.
No data migration is needed, and the update can be enabled with a single setting in “Company System and Logo Settings”.

Latest People Profile
The latest People Profile in SAP SuccessFactors has received significant upgrades in the 2H 2025 release. While this profile was already available, the editing UI has been redesigned to streamline data entry and highlight automatic field changes, and the history UI now offers clearer tracking of previous values. These enhancements improve useability and bring these UI’s in line with the look and feel of the latest People Profile.
Importantly, SAP has announced that this latest People Profile will become mandatory in the next release. Our advice to HuRis customers is to go live with both the latest People Profile and the improved Home Page as of the next (H1 2026) release. This will allow your organization to take full advantage of the new features, and prevent the introduction of several major UI changes in one year.
RBP Troubleshooting tool
The RBP Troubleshooting Tool in SAP SuccessFactors has been introduced to help administrators prevent, diagnose, and resolve role-based permission issues. The 2H 2025 SAP SuccessFactors release introduces major improvements to the Tool, including a new Target Population Search that helps admins identify which users an employee can access based on permissions.

Additionally, User Group Search and User Role Search are now available as dedicated tabs, making it easier to locate permission groups and roles directly within the troubleshooting interface.
Story Reports Improvements
The latest release brings powerful new capabilities to Story Reports, with broader data coverage. You can now report on employment-based work permits, improving visibility across multiple employments—especially useful after terminations and rehires. Time Account Snapshot data is now available, allowing for more accurate reporting on time balances. Additionally, navigation to new time-related tables from Job Information is supported, expanding access to time data directly within reports.
For onboarding, you can now create reports on Onboarding Tasks, helping track progress and identify bottlenecks. Reporting on Foundation Object workflows has also been enhanced, offering better insight into workflow status and approvals.
Deprecations
SAP has announced deprecations, including the following:
- The legacy LMS Learning Home Page will be deprecated this release
- Mandatory replacement of the legacy People Profile is scheduled for the H1 2026 release
- Basic Authentication and third-party direct integration with SAP SuccessFactors HCM suite will be deprecated in the H2 2026 release
- SAP will announce the sunset dates of legacy reporting tools (table, canvas) in 2026
- The current NEO environment for CPI platform integrations will sunset in 2028, by which time customers have to be migrated to Cloud Foundry. HuRis has developed tooling to assist with this migration. Communication on this will follow.
